Time to reflect on where we’ve been. Here are the key lessons from each story.
There are little voices in our heads encouraging us to doubt ourselves.
It is not those around us making us feel like an impostors, it is the internal message.
The difference between feeling like an impostor and not is whether we choose to believe those voices and perpetuate their message.
The stories in our head become our realities.
The realities we create can lead to increased stress and anxiety.
That anxiety is painful whether it seems justified or not.
Change the story, change the anxiety.
Anxiety is often hidden by louder emotions.
If you look beyond the anger you may find the trigger.
Once you found the trigger you can change your environment.
Anger is valid but using it to justify actions is not.
My mind will conflate valid emotion with valid action.
I need to take a moment to consider the validity of my intended action separate from my emotion.
You shouldn’t be pressured into adopting a position on a topic based on how easy it is to defend.
You will be more satisfied long term when your stated opinions match your true feelings.
A strong universal position is tempting but the better long term choice is a nuanced position that considers context.
Next week we will return to our regular broadcast with a new story and new learnings. Make sure you subscribe to the series to get the next post.
